Kyosk Digital Services Limited is a tech-led platform that connects informal retailers who retail in kiosks and other similar retail outlets directly to fast-moving consumer goods companies (FMCGs) by communicating demand from retail outlets directly to FMCGs and their distributors and managing the delivery of the goods to the kiosks.
Our digital ordering and delivery platform – Kyosk – ensures that these retail outlets get access to stock at competitive prices and have them delivered directly to them. FMCGs find the traditional distribution chain to be inadequate as well, making it expensive for them to serve kiosk-type retail outlets, leading to high incidences of product stock-outs and lost sales opportunities. By providing FMCGs with good data visibility, we solve this major problem of theirs.
We are recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Title: Sourcing Associate
Location: Kano
Role Profile
- We are looking to bring on board an ambitious and commercially aware candidate as a Sourcing Associate.
- The individual will be tasked with the management of a specific region.
- This position is responsible for acquiring merchandise in bulk for sale.
- The position works directly with farmers, Suppliers, manufacturers and distributors who are interested in selling their products to the public
Key Responsibilities
- Implementing purchasing strategies that are inventive and cost-effective.
- Sourcing and engaging reliable small-scale producers.
- Negotiating with small-scale producers to secure advantageous terms.
- Building and maintaining long-term relationships with small-scale producers from all regions of operations.
- Submitting purchase orders and organizing and confirming delivery of goods and services.
- Performing risk assessments on potential sourcing arrangements with small-scale producers
- Work cross-functionally with cross border, agents to analyses market intelligence, execute of market linkage orders, coordinate harvests and logistics
- Preparing sourcing reports.
- Responsible for 100% targets allocated to you
- Coordinate with 3rd party logistics providers last mile & first mile logistics of inputs and outputs in your region
Minimum Qualifications & Desired Skills
- Diploma in Agribusiness, Supply Chain Management, Agricultural Economics, Entrepreneurship or similar subject required; Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Good familiarity with the region/ward/village
- 4+ years of experience in field operations
- 5 years of experience in supply chain operations or a business development officer in agricultural value chains strongly preferred
- Fluent in English, Swahili
- Strong knowledge of industry standards.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
