Job Summary
- We are seeking an experienced Production Manager to oversee and manage the manufacturing processes of our Rice Factory.
- Ensures that the Rice production equipment and tools function properly and increase an organization’s efficiencies.
- Their duties include building production schedules, making sure production processes stay within budgets and deadlines and reviewing the productivity of an organization’s manufacturing equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement Rice production cycle &plans to meet customer demand while optimizing resource utilization.
- Implement and enforce quality control standards and procedures to maintain product quality and consistency.
- Identify and resolve any quality-related issues promptly.
- Manage production staff, including in-house training, orientation, and performance evaluation.
- Oversee resource allocation, including labour, equipment, and materials, to maximize efficiency and minimize downtime.
- Continuously analyze production processes to identify areas for improvement and implement lean manufacturing principles.
- Lead and participate in process improvement projects to increase productivity and reduce costs.
- Implement inventory tracking systems to improve accuracy and reduce waste.
- Promote a culture of safety, cleanliness, and housekeeping and provide training to staff as needed.
- Monitor production expenses and develop cost-effective strategies to minimize waste and maximize profitability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as procurement, maintenance, and sales to ensure seamless production processes.
- Report regularly to senior management on production performance and key metrics.
- Stay updated on industry trends, technologies, and best practices to drive innovation and efficiency within the production department.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in a related field (e.g., Manufacturing, Engineering, Business Management) with a minimum of 5 years experience in the same role.
- Proven experience in Rice Farm or Factory, production management or a similar role within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent problem-solving, critical reasoning and decision-making abilities.
- Strong knowledge and use of Excel is a must.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Exceptional communication (especially ability to communicate in Hausa) and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to safety, quality, and productivity standards.
- Experience in maintenance is an advantage.
