Job Summary

Job Purpose

  • The Production Officer is responsible for overseeing and coordinating all production activities and operations within the frozen chicken and beef production line. This role involves planning daily production schedules, managing manpower, and ensuring smooth production processes to meet quality standards and production goals.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate activities of workers engaged in the production process of the birdsacross all lines.
  • Collaborate with the Production Manager to determine production requirements and discuss the condition of cold chain status of the chciken
  • Oversee the weighing and ensure that birds to be slaughtered are in good condition.
  • Manage the daily slaughtering of birds, ensuring the required dressing yield percentage per production.
  • Ensure seamless product transfer to the Inventory team.
  • Maintain prompt daily, weekly, and monthly production records for management use.
  • Ensure the production team uses the required personal protective equipment (PPE) before and during production.
  • Collaborate with Quality Control and Maintenance teams to address quality-related issues, implement process improvements, and maintain product quality and safety.
  • Provide training and guidance to production staff on production procedures, food safety practices, and compliance requirements.
  • Participate in internal and external audits, inspections, and regulatory assessments, providing documentation and support as needed.
  • Stay updated on industry regulations, standards, and best practices related to food safety, production assurance, and hygiene practices.
  • Participate in the new hire induction program and ensure proper onboarding.
  • Ensure good manufacturing practices, proper hygiene, and conformity with established SOPs.
  • Uphold the company’s values and ethical standards, promoting a culture of quality, safety, and continuous improvement in all aspects of operations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Production Management, Animal Health Science or a related field.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in chickenproduction management.
  • Extensive knowledge of working in an abattoir for chicken production.
  • In-depth knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices.
  • Proven experience in managing production teams and processes.
