Job Description
- We are seeking a reliable and experienced Hub Operator to oversee the day-to-day operations of our cold room facility.
- As the Hub Operator, you will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient and effective management of the cold room hub, including inventory control, maintenance, and customer service.
Responsibilities
Facility Management:
- Ensure the proper functioning and maintenance of all cold room equipment, including temperature control systems, refrigeration units, and storage racks.
- Conduct regular inspections and maintenance checks to identify and address any issues or repairs promptly.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards within the cold room facility to ensure the quality and safety of stored produce.
Inventory Control:
- Monitor and manage inventory levels within the cold room, including tracking incoming and outgoing shipments of fresh fruits and vegetables.
- Implement inventory management systems and procedures to optimize storage space and minimize wastage.
- Conduct regular inventory audits to verify stock levels and reconcile discrepancies.
Customer Service:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for customers utilizing the cold room facility.
- Provide assistance and support to customers in accessing and utilizing storage services, including crate allocation, loading, and unloading.
- Address customer inquiries, concerns, and requests in a timely and professional manner.
Security and Safety:
- Implement security protocols and procedures to safeguard the cold room facility and its contents against theft, vandalism, and unauthorized access.
- Enforce safety guidelines and regulations to ensure the wellbeing of staff and customers within the facility.
- Coordinate with relevant authorities or emergency services in the event of security or safety incidents.
Record Keeping and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of inventory transactions, equipment maintenance, and customer interactions.
- Generate regular reports on cold room utilization, inventory levels, and operational performance.
- Provide insights and recommendations for process improvements and efficiency enhancements.
Community Engagement:
- Engage with local farming communities, agricultural organizations, and government agencies to promote the benefits of cold storage and cooling solutions.
- Participate in community events, workshops, and outreach programs to raise awareness and drive adoption of our services.
- Represent the company in a professional and positive manner at all times.
Requirements
- Proven experience in facility management, logistics, or related fields, preferably within the cold storage or agricultural industry.
- Strong technical knowledge of cold room equipment and refrigeration systems.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with diverse stakeholders.
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
- Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends or evenings, to accommodate the operational needs of the cold room facility.
- Fluency in Hausa languages is preferred.
