Job Description
- The Farm Manager will oversee all farm operations, including planning, coordinating, and managing production activities to ensure the successful cultivation of horticultural products.
- This role involves supervising staff, managing resources, and ensuring compliance with agricultural standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and manage day-to-day farm operations.
- Supervise and train farm staff.
- Recommend suitable crop varieties based on the Client’s objectives, market demand, and environmental conditions.
- Develop a detailed planting schedule, including seeding, transplanting, and harvesting timelines.
- Advise on best practices for crop rotation to optimize soil health and productivity.
- Provide guidance on propagation techniques, including seed selection, germination, and seedling care.
- Monitor crop health and implement pest and disease control measures.
- Conduct market research to identify potential buyers, competitors, and market trends.
- Advise on pricing, packaging, and distribution channels.
- Assist in establishing relationships with buyers, suppliers, and other stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
- Manage farm budgets and control expenses.
- Maintain accurate records of farm activities and production.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess Bachelor’s Degrees in Agriculture, Horticulture, or related fields
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in greenhouse farm management.
- Strong knowledge of horticultural practices and greenhouse management.
- Excellent leadership and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively with farm management software.
Salary
N200,000 – N300,000 Monthly.
